"Campus Tour for Intangible Cultural Heritage: Silkroad Zisha Exhibition" was successfully held in Tongji University

Nov. 7-10,  " Campus Tour for Intangible Cultural Heritage: Silkroad Zisha Exhibition——Yixing Ceramic Art Exchange Event” successfully held in the Yunchou Building guided by Study and Research Department of  of Tongji University Party Committee, University Museum, Jiangsu Ceramics magazine and  Sino-Italian Campus, supported by Jiangsu Cenrun Culture Communication Co., Ltd, producer of the movie Gu Jingzhou and Yixing Three Cups of Tea Culture and Art Co., Ltd. through art exhibitions, creative craft demonstration, cultural lectures and other forms, promote the Chinese intangible cultural heritage tradition. More than 20 senior and researcher-level senior ceramic artists from Yixing, Jiangsu and teachers and students from Tongji University attended the event.

At the opening ceremony on November 7th, Mr. Chen Kangli gave a speech on behalf of Sino-Italian Campus. He said that it was the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, this activity further enhanced the influence of Chinese culture in international communication, enhanced cultural confidence, led teachers and students at home and abroad to perceive China, and improved students' aesthetic education quality. Through the Sino-Italian platform, the Confucius Institute and overseas campuses of the University of Florence will continue to promote Chinese culture to go global. Chen Fuqiang, Jiangsu arts and crafts master made a speech on behalf of the artists, saying that he was very glad to contribute to the promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture education on campus, and hoped to invigorate intangible cultural heritage innovatively together. In the art donation part, Zhang Huibo, the curator of university museum  thanked Qu Huadi, Zhu Saiqin, Qian Biyun and Jiang Xueping for their donation of precious works such as Gangnan Style.

Zhang Lei, chief editor of Jiangsu Ceramics magazine, guided us to visit The Road to Revival, World View, Vice the World and other more than 30 excellent Zisha works.

Representative of  Chinese and foreign teachers and students from Study and Research Department of  of Tongji University Party Committee, Sino-Italian Campus, Medical College, College of Design and Creativity, College of International Exchange, College of Urban Planning, College of Civil Engineering, Sino-German Campus, And College of Foreign Languages of Tongji University experienced the tea ceremony and watched Jun Porcelain , lettering and teapot molding by Han Xiaohu, senior craft artist and Wu Kaihu, senior Craft artist, deepened the understanding of traditional skills in the production experience.

Afterwards, the teachers and students watched the documentary series on intangible heritage protection and listened to the wonderful lectures on Chinese aesthetics and traditional skills by Wang Li, professor from College of Arts and Media of Tongji University, Zhang Rongfa, executive vice president and secretary general of Yixing ceramic industry Association celadon branch and Qu Huadi, senior arts and crafts artist.

On the afternoon of the day, the artists also visited intangible cultural Heritage exhibition of the Tongji University Museum Jade carving Training class, to exchange traditional skills and culture.

       It is reported that the physical works on this exhibition are mostly prize-winning works of various competitions, in addition to traditional shapes there were enamel craft pots, Zisha coffee cups and other practical cultural products, as well as pictures of foreign prize-winning works of the first World Teapot Art Competition, representing the superb production level of Chinese and foreign skills. The event received a warm response, and was committed to promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries under the construction of The Belt and Road initiative and creating an atmosphere of cultural education for double tops universities.
